I did this (stupidly) as separate posts; so here it all is in one big post. All these places are anywhere from a 1 minute to 5 minute walk from Tempe Mission Palms:
PIZZA: Walk down a block to 6th street, on Mill, right across from Urban Outfitters is "Slices" - best pie in town.
SEAFOOD/NEIGHBORHOOD PUB: Walk south on Mill ave about 3 blocks to University, the west two blocks to Ash. South again another block, and BAM! you're at Casey Moore's Oyster House, where cute ASU hunnies abound...as well as your favorite fish, munchies, and pint of drafts and ales. If I see ya, I'll buy a round of Blackened Tans!
MEXICAN FOOD: Walk south one block to 6th street on Mill, then west one block to Z Tejas. Yea, it's corporate, but it's tasty. If you're down for non-corporate traditional Mexican food that kicks ass, walk south 3 blocks on Mill to University, east about a block and a half, and on the north side of the street is "Restraunt Mexico" - YUM.
BEST USED RECORDS: Walk down 3 blocks on Mill, south to University...then 2 blocks west to Ash. Look on the southwest corner for "Eastside Records".
That's right...records. As in used vinyl.
Wax.
Used and rare reasonably priced.
PUSSY WATCHING: Walk three blocks down Mill Ave, south, to University. Walk a block or two east. Then, watch what happens. It's a virtual pussy parade of ASU college sweeties, all wearing short skirts cause it's getting nice out, and they're all from the midwest, and they want to "get a tan" and show off some skin, and trust me, they do...all day long.
Bonus points when the breeze blows a short skirt or two up.
I'm serious.
YUMMY DESERT: Kitty corner from Mission Palms is Cold Stone Creamery. Cause Ice Cream, mashed up with brownies and caramel, is good.
SPORTS BAR WHERE YOU CAN GAMBLE: If a beer and dog races is your thing, try McDuffys...2 blocks directly west of Mission Palms on 5th street.
That is all.
You may carry on.
