But regardless of what I like, it's going to go on every year, for several reasons ALL of which have already been mentioned ad nauseum. According to many many MANY experts there are ecological reasons to allow it to continue, albeit restricted, and it will continue to happen every year whether you cry about it or not.

You may as well deal with it.

And cows get killed, seals get killed. Both get killed as quckly as possble. The difference is cows don't hang out on ice flows.
