Is cheaper always better? Maybe this companies support is better? Maybe the other companies software is out of date, hard to get upgraded, hard to get changes made to. Maybe this company is better than the others at support, which imho, is worth the extra money if you get the support you need with a CMS. No CMS is all encompassing, I know because I have written tons of them. So I know what kind of support it takes after the core of the code is written. $3k for a CMS is not a bad price, personally $500-1000 is way underpriced if its comparible.
