I have a site that has been sitting on the back burner for quite awhile now. The content management script is a work in progress and that includes the part of it which handles the tour. Because of this, about 3/4 of the tour is not yet functional.
Now, as a surfer.....How fucking stupid do you have to be to even consider joining a site with a non-working tour? Obviously you got their as a type in because the site is not being promoted or linked to from anywhere.......
Not only you are incredibly moronic for trying to join the site....But what really boggles my mind is why you would first try the credit card join links and then once you find out those are disabled, you continue to sign up through alternative billing options.
Seriously.....There is a reason the Credit Card links are not working......THE SITE IS NOT LIVE YET OR EVEN WORKING CORRECTLY! In fact, due to a problem with the company who is hosting this work in progress (not the hosting company in my sig).....The entire content directory in the members area is empty.
Now for the REALY stupid part.......The site actually has a couple dozen recurring members under the alternative billing option.
Every once in awhile I get an email asking when the site will be fixed but overall, if the people are dumb enough to join it at this point then they actually stick around.
Surfers are fucking retarded.

Surely if your site is not operational then you should take down all the links that a surfer would sign up through because, by default a surfer will try to find out how to register for a site if he likes your content in the tour. Prob just thinks that the link (in your tour) is broken for some reason and the activly searches out alternative payment methods...
This is better than a surfer searching out free passwords upon finding your broken link.
As for you point of people rebilling after joining your nonexistant site, well all I can say is that some people have more money than sense and can afford to pay recurring memberships and get nothing in return... I know I have done it myself..
