Hi, got a couple quick questions...

If I own several sites (5 or 6) that are all hosted on one account and I link them together in an A>B>C fashion...would search engines frown upon this? Say I have plenty of external links, is there a maximum ratio of external (other ppl's) sites to internal (my) sites that is acceptable as to not get banned or penalized in the search engines?

I have heard having 1 or 2 links to your own sites at most per site is acceptable, is this true? Would appreciate hearing from someone who knows about this, preferably with first-hand experience.
