eye of the beholder, i guess...i thought the best i've seen was the 1981 tour (after they released Tattoo You), so I guess they got better (in my eyes) from the 1975 show (first time I saw them) --- but i thought that after that, they never *quite* measured up to '81. I really liked the Bridges to Babylon show more than, for example, the one this summer, so it's really hard to generalize, i guess. it also has to do with where you see them and whether they're "on" any particular night too - a couple of years ago, all i could think during the show was "when is this going to end?" but that was largely because it was at the SD Sports Arena, one of the worst venues in the western hemisphere - and my feelings about the '75 show may be influenced by the fact that i saw them at the old Boston Garden, which also had terrible acoustics.
my bottom line, like i said before - if you really like them and have never seen them, go. you won't be disappointed.
