Hosting Retention Tip - Simply don't honor cancellation requests!
Drama??!
#1 - Ordered 5 crappy centrino dedicated servers.
#2 - The way it worked out, I never ended up using them at all.
#3 - I sent an email about a week before my next billing date to cancel. There was no contract, unless it was hidden in the fine print on their site or something.
#3b - I am charged for another month of service.
#4 - I Get generic reply "In order to cancel, please provide the following information per server: Server Name, IP, Root Pass, Last 4 of CC, Date to take server offline." It also said that all cancellations must be made more than 30 days prior to the next billing cycle... which I most definitely never agreed to.
#5 - I replied and asked for a copy of the contract or anything that I may have accidentally agreed to stating i would cancel at least 30 days prior to cycle. I also promptly provided as much of the info as possible, however I don't have the "server names" as I just made them up on the fly when purchasing these and never even received a "welcome" email from this company. All other info was promptly provided via fax and email.
#6 - A week later I got another reply saying ....
For cancellations, please provide the following:
Server Names
IP addresses
Root Password
I have provided all of this info several times, and they are still giving me this shit! I have now disputed the last charge and promised to see them in small claims court if they continue to charge my card further, but based on their emails I'd say they are implying that they intend to charge me again next month, since it is now less than 30 days before the NEXT billing cycle.
Also please note: It has taken at least 6 days for them to reply to each of my emails.
What to do!?!?!?!?!
