My nextdoor neighbour often jokes that I wash and wax my vehicles in the driveway so often that someday I'd wear the paint off them.
To me, its pride of ownership because I'd earned every dime it took to buy the vehicles. I could easily afford to have someone detail the car on a weekly basis. But that would take away the pleasure and satisfaction of maintaining and caring for it myself.
The difference being - you'll NEVER see Paris Hilton washing and waxing her McClaren in the driveway (unless of course there's a camera crew in the vicinity and she's pimping for the lens).
