I have 3 of those and a Lacie Firewire 800 adapter. I've had 3 RMAs and had to replace the adapter on my own. Yup, 4 total products from Lacie and 4 total failures. You're living dangerously.
Might want to consider a RAID setup with a bunch of SATA drives before you loose days worth of work.
