Dotster has been above and beyond excellent for me for 6 years now. I'd never ever change I dont think.
Whats taking long? Transfer in or out? Got locks all set right? Is domain 60+ days old? I transferred one OUT of Dotster to PimpRoll's control for my BYOT there and it was quick.
