And therein lies a perfect example of the problem still prevalent in this industry. Because some sells erotic material it is somehow presupposed that they have no morals. So many people are completely programmed to think of sexuality as immoral that they can't magine a caring, honest person who also happens to enjoy sex. Yet a person could be considered of the highest moral fiber and produce movies like The Godfather or any other of thousands of films that make hurting people somehow glorious.
No doubt there are a bunch of scummy people "pushing porn" but I'd argue that it's people's really whacked out sense of how sex is somehow wrong that perpetuates that type of expression of it.
