The election of 2000 is one of the sorriest episodes in American history in years. You are right ... from the votes that were counted, Bush won. Of course, there were some ballots in republican counties designed to look like you were voting for Gore when in fact you were voting for Buchannan, and there were lots of folks who had voted for years who suddenly were no longer registered, had to produce three forms of ID, yada yada yada.
It's too bad that nobody but that flaming liberal ()
not), Vincent Bugliosi (the guy who prosecuted Charles Manson, amongh other people) that Anton Scalia had two lawyer sons working for the Bush campaign. You ever heard of conflict of interest? And this supreme court's ruling was the most laughable piece of judical bullshit produced by a Supreme Court in years - that feeling is held by Constitutional scholars (sorry - Rush is not considered one of them) on both the left and right.
And since when did it somehow become illegal to FOLLOW the law by contesting election results? There is nothing either illegal or unethical in what Gore did.
Bush is the president; it's time to quit crying over spilt milk. But there is enough dirt to go around for both sides ...
