eBay buyers are going to spend within 5-10% of their comfortable limit anyway. If you have a "secret reserve" price I promise you the 305.00 bidder is not suddenly going to enter a 25k bid.

Not starting the bid at your reserve price simply makes no sense to me.

As I have said before, the reserve is no big secret. It's approximately the cost of a nice new car: nothing super fancy, but no rust bucket either.

If you start an auction with a high opening bid, often you get no bids. So, I would rather see a little action, even if it falls short in the end.
