Hope I don't jinx myself here, but I have never had any problems with timeouts. Sometimes (when using 1.5.2) it takes a couple of minutes for it to ping everything, but it's never timed out on me. On 2.0+ it doesn't even take the few minutes because it pings in the background after the post is made.
