You are very wrong in my opinion. The probability of Israel attacking Iran's facilities is VERY high, and of course it will cause an all-out war between Iran and Israel, but since when has that stopped Israel before? Of course the US will be dragged into fighting on Israel's behalf also. I don't consider the Iranian leadership evil for their current position though, Iran isn't as backward as you might believe, and although it isn't an ideal society by any stretch of the imagination it is absolutely not suprising they want nukes when their main rival in the region (Israel) has them (built with US dollars of course).
