Its been almost 15 years and rap is still going strong. I dont see it going away any time soon.
Hey, here is what I'm getting at; rap will surely always be around just like all music types. The difference is, rap is really big now, in the lime light. I'm saying, it doesn't deserve to be in the lime light. Yes, rap was around long with a few big songs here and there... like when grunge was mainstream, there were still puffy songs on the radio and such, but now rap fills the Top 40 radio waves. I'm saying, rap will stop dominating soon and the songs that do dominate for the time being will be forgotten in time, just like the rap songs that were big in the 90s, all forgotten. (While Nirvana is still highly regarded as one of the best bands ever.)

Rap is a NOW type of music. A rap song comes, it is big for like 3 months, then it is GONE. A rap songs life is around 6 months, while real music lasts forever.
