The problem in these situations is that there isn't a place to go if you have an abusive police officer. Most IA departments are jokes and run by the officers themselves. Most complaints are brushed off. So in the end, these officers have complete control.

The officer who followed the guy out of the station should be fired on the spot. There is no excuse for it whatsoever. The guy wasn't threatening and was trying to walk away.

Lastly, people forget one important thing. Cops work for us. Our tax dollars pay for their salary. They are here to serve and protect us, not belittle and intimidate us. So the "live in their shoes" expression doesn't fly with me. They chose the job, they can quit anytime, and they work for us. It's time people stopped being afraid and intimidated by officers and treating them like employees.
