Isn't it funny how we get all the blame?

I get about 300 emails per day, of which 299 are spam (this is accurate, not an exaggeration).

Now, I do get a lot of porn-related spam, mostly from people trying to get me to use their program or trying to get me to buy Internet Eraser-type software. The thing is, I get even more spam from "legitimate" companies (mostly credit card companies, loan companies and assholes trying to tell me I've "won" something).

I'd say I get 60% "legit companies" spam and 40% porn spam. This is despite the fact that I am CONSTANTLY putting my porn business addresses into forms all over the place and I have only used my normal email address for maybe 10-15 things in 3 years.

So, why the fuck is it whenever you hear about spam in mainstream media it's always porn spam? Even better, they like to make it sound like everyone who runs an adult site is a spamming child pornographer.

Most of us work hard and make our money by providing services people want, but the misconceptions hold on strong. In the meantime, credit card companies are tryig to distance themselves from internet porn while letting the banks that issue their cards spam like there's no tomorrow.

Is there any kind of anti-spam coalition for adult webmasters or something?
