Well, sounds like the new machine is much nicer hardware. But it could be that you are on oversold lines... so now you got network issues. Or, your network card could be flaky. I'd email your host to look into it and see what they say.
at 2500gb per month, you are most likely saturating your 10mbps uplink during peak periods, or at least coming very close. Do you have an mrtg?
