Its not all entirely based on capita, of course - but I'm sure it plays a factor.

My point is it must be difficult for so many people in town who have recently lost jobs due to major manufacturing companies relocating...and being forced to work menial-wage jobs in efforts to make ends meet.

Not long ago the town lost its #1 manufacturing employer (Atlas Metals) and since then has lost at least a half dozen other major employers in the area. The loss of these companies is partially blamed on the ineptness of local politicians and mismanagement on the part of the city itself.

Yet here we have a city manager complainin' he's only making a $108k salary in the face of all this.

No doubt he's not going to hear a lot of sympathy from many folks in the area.
