MIAMI - The most expensive car in the world is being showcased in South Florida. The Bugatti Veyron has 1,001 horsepower and costs $1.4 million, and only 300 will ever be made.

"If you want to go 6 to 60 in 2.5 seconds, you would need 1,000 horsepower," said Ashley Ellott, of Braman Miami.
The 16-cylinder European beauty is also the fastest car, and the only one being showcased in North America is in Miami, drawing a lot of "oohs" and "ahhs" from a lingering crowd.
Braman Miami let NBC 6's Amara Sohn take the $1.4 million rarity for a spin. Men were drooling all over the car.
"Heads turn. People really like the car," Ellott said.
Sohn said after the drive that nothing can prepare you for the whiplash you get from the 1.7 G's.
"The acceleration is just mind-boggling," Ellott said.
Ten people have committed to buy the car from the dealership.
"The down payment is $400,000 for the car," Ellott said.
A sandwich shop employee said he is already making plans.
"I need to sell about 1 million sandwiches, and then I can afford it," he said.
Test drives are not available, but if you want to see what the hype is all about, you can see the car at Braman Miami until Thursday.
