I sold dansmovies.com a few years back and not only did it not make ANY money.. It cost 300$/mth to host the damn site. Nobody thought it was worth anything yet it had 45,000 bookmarkers and no trades with no sponsors on the site either.

Niiiice. Kinda makes you a little sick to see one of your old sites kicking ass like that. I had a site that I couldn't make money with and sold it a long time ago. It's kicking ass now too and I wish I never would have sold it.
