I gotta see this movie. Being in comics I can sympathize with Moore with the way Hollywood can operate, yet when the book came out I got so damned bored I couldn't read it. Same with Watchmen. When I could finally force myself to slog through the series I felt let down. He's a fine writer it's just his idea of adventure and mine don't mix. However, if you wanna read a kick ass Alan Moore book, find if you can his "Killing Joke" which outlines the origin of The Joker and is one of the best Batman comics ever. Not too mention Brian Bolland's masterful artwork which is what got me to buy it. |
the movie was set for release last year (around Guy Fawkes day I believe) but they kept bumping it up to better 'slots' as interest in it grew. It looks like it's going to be a good one.
I'm surprised you didn't enjoy Watchmen. It changed comics from what I've read about it, I enjoyed it myself, though it was a long time ago that I read it.
