If it is windows 2003, and you are using remote desktop, you can change the settings in your sign on box. Where you put your IP in to log onto the server there is an options button. Click it and goto local resources tab. Under local resources check disk drives. This will then show your local drives as drives under my computer on your remote desktop. Not sure how I understood you, but I did get it.
