I use my own judgement. How much slack I will give a client depends a lot on the history, relationship, reason and communication. I am quicker to cut off deadbeats now... as defined by recurring lateness and issues collecting. This is another reason why it's good to have full contact info. It's one thing to email someone or send an ICQ message, quite another to be leaving messages on their phone line. I'll let just about anyone go 30-60 days or more if we are communicating, 30 days or less if we're not. It's often just a judgement call where you find yourself weighing in what is your margain and what is the risk associated with your cost of continuing to provide service.
