with us, 95% of the time - we never use escrow whether were buying or selling. usually fax over a contract, check the buyer or seller out, give them wire info, all is good.
When we sold tr.net to that turkish univ / company they were a bit worried but I said look, am I going to screw someone over? and not for 40k

it was all good, got the wire, did the transfer - everyone was happy. but for safety - escrow is best.
