Actually, I have a theory about this.
You know how blue is sposed to be the boy's color, and pink the girl's?
Well, think about it like this; as a male, which color are you more attracted to?
Kind of like how males are attracted to shiny things... girls wear jewelry, bright colors etc. not because they 'like' them, but because subconsciously they know it attracts the opposite sex at a base instinctive level.
I'm willing to bet that females are attracted to solid dark colors as well.
