Generally speaking I think it's what poker site you choose to go with and the stakes you are playing for, the higher the stakes, the tighter the play gets.
But if you have pocket kings and you raised a good amount pre-flop and only one person calls, chances are that person has face cards (or in this case A9). If I had KK and with one caller and the flop was 886 I would be planning to take down the pot and bet high enough to make sure it was mine. The only things that can beat you, depending on the suits are AA or an 8.
