Don't be naive. The U.S. media has been known to manipulate the truth many times and usually have biased one sided views.
I'm sure that there are a large number of girls that were tricked into doing this, but keep in mind that there's also a large number of them thinking this was an easy way to break into the sex industry.
On both instances it sounds like a stranger usually convinces them to go "work" somewhere whether the claim is sex related or not.
