There's no denyin' usenet always been a bastion of sickos and pedo crap - but its also been the backbone source of advertising for many of us over the years.
We posted our content to Usenet back as early as '95, which helped fuel interest and drive traffic to our site when we finally launched in 1999. Back then it was an invaluable promotional tool.
But that never provided permission to third-party scumbags such as guba to make use of those images for their own profits. Copyright provisions give us the right to control where and how our intellectual property is published and disseminated.
Guba can spin it any way they like. It doesn't matter. A thorn is a thorn by any other name. These days, when they pilfer the newsgroups and provide paid access to content stolen from paysites...they are creating a potential loss of livelihood for us all - thus handicapping our ability to create more. In effect, they are hurting everyone involved in the long run.
