I saw some of it.. I was wondering when Kovalchuk would wake up... he did with a vengance today. If the Russians are firing on all cylinders offensively, they'll be tough to beat in the knockout phase, esp. if they can get an opponent to try to skate with them. Esp. vulnerable will be the USA and Canada with their ancient backlines.
While I don't think the Russians will get 9 aganst the USA on Tuesday, a 7-3 win over the USA wouldn't surprise me.
As for what went wrong with the USA, it's obvious. When you're the oldest team in a tourney where you play 4 games in 5 days after flying half way around the world and have only one practice as a team, you're not going to do very well...they're getting by strictly on talent, and even then they're just getting by...
