So many electronics are the same inside. I tend to buy the cheapest thing I can find. I have almost never been burned doing this. I have owned low end compaq and tons of names no one has ever heard of since. They all worked. I have used AMD chips forever do to cost. Even when doing some big processing stuff, we have never had an issue.

I am not sure I even equate Dell or Sony with quality. They have to be so price competitive that you know they are cutting corners to get there.
