I agree. It's getting pretty bad. Michael Powell is an establishment cronie. He goes to the highest bidder. The laws got relaxed the first time in 1996 and you see what that has given us. Now it will happen again... but worse.
All we can hope for is that the wireless networks become stronger. I'm confident Wi-Fi or another wireless broadband system will be the people's answer. Right now 802.11a is being built into next year's cell phones PDAs and other devices. If enough companies figure out how to serve up and track people so they can bill them across Wi-Fi networks we will see the destruction of traditional media since people will be able to get the content they want at broadband speeds.
We are going to see a surge in the way fiber and wireless connections are used in the next 2 years. Some say 5, I say 2.
The FCC is trying to regulate the broadband spectrum now because they know that once it starts they won't be able to control much of anything.
