My wife and I had our first date and our first kiss on Valentine's Day so it's always been a bit special. But things got out of control six years later when our daughter was born and we named her Nicole Valentine Buss. Nicole is now five, and Valentine's Day is bigger than Christmas here.

I've spent the past two weeks shopping every morning before work and during my lunch. This morning I bought flowers and rose petals. The rose petals will be mixed with Hersey's kisses and spread out in the gargage where my wife and daughter will come into the house. The family room will be packed with gifts including new bikes for all. Let's just say that Kay Jewelers loves me.

I can't cook to save my life, but I've planned a special meal for my daughter and I. Later tonight after she goes to bed my wife and I will have a romantic dinner from our favorite place up the street.

This morning at 6am my daughter woke me up by jumping on my stomach. The first thing I said to her was "Will you be my Valentine". Her response brought tears to my eyes.

It's gonna be a great day.
