That's because you're an uneducated bigot. I'm sorry, but I have nothing but hate in my heart for anyone that tells me that my relationship, which has already proven to be more stable than over 60% of heterosexual relationships, doesn't deserve protection.
Tell me I shouldn't have the right to visit my partner in the hospital should he get sick, to bury him should he die, to inherit the house we share together without being taxed out of it, then tell me "I don't mean to offend any gays"? Fuck you.
It's IMPOSSIBLE to be guaranteed such fundamental protections as that without us being included in federal marriage laws. States can, have, and continue to overturn living wills, wills, trusts, and contracts between homosexual couples on a daily basis. There is literally no way for us to insure our protection, no matter how many thousands of dollars we spend having legal documents drawn up.
