Well, it could be to get a message out that if you throw rocks you get severely beaten by the soldiers cos they take it very "personally". However, it could backfire at them too since the message will really be they are not only doing a job they're doing it cos they from the bottom of their hearts hate Iraqi civillians who are pissed off at the invaders
