You see... calling someone smart just because they "make money" is as stupid as calling someone smart just because they "do what they want". Smart is totally objective, obviously my view of being smart is totally opposite of yours so there are going to be different answers.
Oh, and then there's the guys who spend all their time working, never make a penny, never enjoy life, and die early. We would probably both agree thats pretty stupid, haha. I know them too.

Although I mostly agree with you, I still believe that in the end, the only thing that's really "smart" is to shape your life the way you want it to be, that is, enjoying your life and doing what you want. Of course, by enjoying life and doing what you want, I am not just talking about the short term, nor just about hedonistic pleasures.
But I agree with you, what living a good life is is different in everyone's view, and so, being smart is in a way different for everyone.
