In reality she probably committed adultery or fornicated. People outside of western culture have very strong social mores intact to keep the family structure tight. They still farm and live off the land so they NEEEEEED the family to be tight. No one can survive by themselves in a culture like that and they know it. So some little hot in the pants female needs to be disciplined/killed in order to keep the family unit tight and ensure the survival of the people.
