Also - populations in poorer nations (whatever religion) tend to have more children, usually because of the mortality rates linked to poverty. As countries become more affluent they tend to have less children. That trend has been happening for centuries, irrespective of religion.

the poorer nations tend to have more children manily because the lack of protection and in most cases protection is not allowed by the religion.
the reason for having less children in the rich countries, is mainly beacuse of the women career options and the availability of protection
