Howdy, sad day for everyone
Topic at hand: My hosting company sugests I look into buying a server because im at my limit for shared. Im doing well over 400k per day and peaking at close to 600 (about fucking time,
). They said they would provide the bandwith, so I think its time for my own server.
I need some help, my buddy here in Montreal owns and runs a small comp. shop ( mcmicrotech.com ), he provides us with all our p.c needs, and does a great job. However he never built a server to handle that kind of load. This is where I need your help. Here is what I've come up with so far, its going to have a P4 2.4 with 1gig of ram and a skuzzy drive.
What else do I need to build a built proof server that can do about 1500-2000 gigs per month? Any special nic cards, special mother boards, special anything, etc. etc ?
How about a url where they explain this in detail?
