But when I got to the Hospital they gave me a "Demerol Cocktail" about 30 mins before the operation. As they were moving me to the O.R. I remember telling the Anisthesiologist that I didn't feel any different and I didn't think the injection was working, to which he replied "you will". The last thing I remember was being wheeled into the Operating Room and telling one of the doctors something along the lines of "Oooooooooo, what pretty lights", he laughed and told me to count back from 100...... I don't think I made it to 99 .
They gave me a smaller Demerol shot when I had to get out of bed and try to walk on the crutches for the first time; I went from pain to paradise in about 5 minutes.

I had the head nurse giving me shots for everything I did. Fitting a boot, get a shot, got to go to the bathroom get a shot, had to size for crutches get a shot, looked out the window got a shot. She was shot happy. I loved her. But the problem with that is I felt so damn good I wanted to go home. I should have stayed another day. That was a night of hell. I have never felt so much pain in my life. This time I am making sure I have something stronger to have at home just in case. I do not want to ever go through that again and going to the reemergence room screaming I need drugs doesn't roll over to well with a different hospital! LOL
