just to add:
From what I've read, one can't express opposing religious views in the Middle East without fear of being killed. Women are still treated as chatel. A culture without the freedoms and equality that we enjoy in the West is backwards. Would you agree? Muslims go to live in Western nations to enjoy these very freedoms that are denied to them in their homelands.
