You simply dont try kids as adults, its as assinine as charging a cat with being a dog.. simply because cat punsihments arent tough enough..
There is one reason and one reason only that we charge kids as adults.. because the punishment for children isnt tough enough.. Somehow a judge is smart enough to decide punsihment , decide guilt or innocence yet he isnt smart enough to figure out a person's maturity ? error , does not compute ..

Exactly.
Although one problem is that judges aren't usually fully free in their sentencing, and maximum sentences for teens often indeed aren't tough enough. However, that should lead to a change of laws, not to arbitrary application of laws.
