I've been in and out of the biz over the past ten years. Used a lot of virtuals, a few dedicated. Been with Webair, have nothing but good things to say about them. Awhile back a buddy turned me on to
DreamHost and sure, I was skeptical at first. I mean... how good could a virtual host be for only $7.95 a month? Seriously.
The answer, very, very good. I mean, even after I checked their dedicated packages... I was pretty much blown away. Their top advertisied package, $475 a month for a P4 Dual Xeon, 2 gig ram, 400 gig drive.. 10 terabytes of transfer.. umm.. yeah, these guys are alright. I haven't gone dedicated with them yet, sadly I'm still with another host but that'll change shortly. I like
DreamHost, they respond quick and so far, their uptime has been flawless. In the end, go with whatever suits your budget of course. Start small, test them out, then go big.
It's also not a bad idea to get on a few lower price hosts for SE PR stuff. Mind you, that could just be a theory. heh. Good luck man!
