Hammas used this situation to get support for the war of terror. Without Hammas there would of been fewer welfare centres, hospitals and schools in the West Bank.
Today Hammas has to keep those centres open and needs the money from the West more than they did a week ago.

With all the knowledge and history the West knows about the region and terrorists why do they continue to make the same mistakes?

Hammas have a chance to moderate themselves.. if they dont take this chance they wont be around for long. Corruption was well established in Fattah and Hammas like all political groups is open to corruption but i doubt the culture within Hammas would allow it to become pandemic.
