At one point it's not about beeing cheap, it's about beeing smart...
Unless you are filthy rich, and 250k don't mean that much anymore to you (like 20k for a civic wouldn't mean much to you probably), then you can afford it ;)
Cars are not an investement, unless you use them for show in business...
But I guess everybody have their own priorities.
