Hmmmm, those are obvious spams. Here's the really sneaky tactics I've seen so far. To those that use these tactics, I appreciate your creativity and your ability to rise from the tired and easily ignored "drive by spam" variety. Keep it entertaining and keep those reply posts coming....that's what makes this site vibrant.
NOTE: Most MB-based "spamming" thrives on sig lines but you'll notice there are some tactics that transcend this and focus more on creating a "buzz."
1) Tag Team Spam -- Question and Answer format
2) Fake Piss Match -- If carefully done makes for both good comedy and marketing
3) Categorical Attack -- One account attacks a whole niche or subcategory, another offers an "Exception" to the rule which is the site being promoted
4) Hate Me thread -- Say something fairly outrageous and have tons of people debating your crap while the thread keeps getting bumped skyward
5) Veiled Spam -- Keep talking up a program via veiled references and refuse to name it on a thread. People will have to ICQ and the reference is dropped there. Great for creating a buzz. Caveat: site must convert decently well or this will backfire......big time.
6) Other WM Board Spam -- Mention controversies from another board but make it look like its fresh on this board. Then provide a link to the other board.
