1942 thru 1944 were the most desperate years this nation ever faced. My point is that there WERE no major political impedents, the ONLY factor being considered was victory. The only question (imho) being asked was "how do we WIN". No one cared HOW we won, we just had to win.
Think about that.
This wasnt some banana war like Puller had been fighting, where "ok yeah, some Marines would die; big deal." This WAS a legitimate fight to survive as a NATION.
