and also type-in traffic on sex.com won't convert 1:100 as it perhaps was the case in 1998 - i have a few more targetted type-in domains than sex.com and they do far worse than that...

You've got a point.....I agree, not all surfers on sex.com are new....I said who

I think the owners of sex.com bought it as an online
real-estate investment and are not so much interested in developing a
business out of it.....hence the bannerfarm. They probably gonna sit on it
for a while in order to resell it again.
Someone who really wants to setup a serious porn business could just as
easy brand a new domain which is far cheaper than sex.com and use the
other 13,999,995.05 for content, marketing and what not.
