I used Adobe Premier .. On a 2.33 celeron PC .. A piece of shit computer .. but the idea is to organise your layers right, and process every new transition/effect regularly so that you're not there for hours rendering later ...
Work slowly and orginse your bin .. you shouldn't have a problem ..
Keep in mind that I edit with Final cut pro HD too, Encite - matrox, Avid and I years ago on Media 100 .. though I don't consider myself an editor, I do have over 16 years experience .. I started editing on 3/4" machines .. Damn that does make me old
